Who I Work With

So… this year is moving way too fast.  I don’t really have time to update this site very often, but I have a spare moment now, so I thought I’d try to let you all know who I’ve been working with lately.  This is in no way a comprehensive list, but just a start.

The Honey Trees

One of my favorite memories this year was producing The Honey Trees new album.  It is as of now, not released yet, but will be later this year.  The second or third day they were in the studio, my dog Dolly ran away and was lost.  Jacob, Becky, and Simon walked door to door with me trying to find her.  I love them.  The album will take you by surprise, it’s so, so good.

Eisley

I was hired to mix and master the new Eisley album “Currents”, but it turned into much more.  I was so obsessed with their sound, that I (without their permission) threw strings and brass all over their album.  Great album.  Wonderful friends.

Noosa

Here’s a wonderful band out of New York that I’ve been working with off and on for the past year.  GREAT voice (Sky Barbarick) and the production is so cool!  Just wrapped up my 5th string arrangement for them about an hour ago.  Not sure about the release date for the album, but it should be this year!

Merriment

Not long after I finished working on the Eisley album, two other siblings from their family hired me to record some strings on their record.  Collin and Christie go by the name “Merriment” and their sound is so mature, so classic.  Honored that they asked me to help out.

Sleeping At Last

It’s very strange to think that Ryan and I have been collaborating on music now for about four years.  Wow.  No one writes lyrics and melodies the way he does.  I’m just happy he lets me tag along.  He’s released an entire encyclopedia of music in the last couple of years, and I make several string appearances throughout.

Kye Kye

Was I hiding in a cave or something?  I have no idea how this band slipped by without me noticing them for so long, but wow.  Such a great band, and they have an amazing album coming out this year that I recorded strings and brass for.  The album was produced by Chad Howat of Paper Route.

Paper Route

And speaking of Paper Route!  This is actually really, really, old news.  But I did several string arrangements for their album “The Peace Of Wild Things”.  This was actually the week of my wedding, which would make it TWO years ago.  And they’re not listed on my collaborations page, so…. I suck at this.  But I listen to this album almost every day at the gym.

Jon Foreman

Several years ago I did a string remix of a Switchfoot song.  That’s how I met Jon Foreman and was asked to write strings and brass arrangements for his upcoming solo album.  I believe he’s releasing it later this year.  Many people in this list also contributed instrumental arrangements for this album.  This album is going to be so vast, and expansive.  I can’t wait to hear it all.

Anna Gilbert

Anna and I have been working together for over a year now I think.  I mixed and mastered her album (along with Sam Ashworth) that will be coming out later this year.  I’ve never met someone who was so willing and excited to collaborate, and the album reflects that spirit.  Such a talent, and a humble person.

Army Of Me

I got to tour with Vince last year, and it was the most fun I’ve had ever.  Doing anything.  And Vince was a big part of that.  We were touring in Canon Blue with MuteMath, and got to be good friends.  After the tour, Dan (lead singer of Canon Blue) started production on his album and asked me to do brass and string arrangements.  This guy knows how to write songs.  Seriously.  His new album will also be out later this year.

The Impatient Sisters

I first got an email from Soraya last year and she told me she and her sisters were from Malaysia.  And after googling “Where is Malaysia“, I wrote her back with a seemingly well informed view of her culture and country.  The three sisters make up “The Impatient Sisters”.  And they’ve been so gracious in letting me work with them.  Working with someone across the ocean has so many challenges, but this is one of the most rewarding projects I’ve worked on.  ALL of our work so far has been long distance.  Great trio with great harmonies.  And it’s fun.

Bethel Music

This is another project that has been ongoing for a while now.  Bethel makes Christian music,  but cooler.  A lot cooler.  I was invited to do a bunch of strings for their instrumental album “Without Words” last year.  We are working on LOTS more new music all the time, and you should hear more from them later this year!  The production on these albums is great.

Sucre

And of course Sucre is still working on music every chance we get.  I know we’ve been talking about how much material we’ve started, but life is asking us to be patient.  We will continue to work on new music, and I promise, we will make it worth the wait.

Well, that’s not even close to everyone, but my blogging endurance is a bit down right now.  I need a break.  I’ll try to add more to this soon.  By the way, if you’d like to hire me to work on one of your projects, just email me: band (at) jeremylarsonmusic (dot) com.  Thanks for reading.
